Douglas Dickerson, a decorated veteran from Morrisville, has accepted the position as State Director of AARP North Carolina. He joins AARP after a 21-year career in the military where he last commanded the largest US Air Force logistics squadron, earning the Japanese government’s recognition for community service leadership.

Dickerson holds an MBA from Duke University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Boston University.  “Serving the senior adults of North Carolina is my top priority,” Dickerson said. “This state is a deciding state in America’s future, and I’m excited to join AARP as we take on the enormous tasks ahead.”
