When Donald W. Fish became Executive Director of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, he brought a sports background along with broad marketing expertise which fit perfectly with the association’s goal of expanding and strengthening its programs. In high school he played for Northern Durham on the 1957 East-West All-State basketball team and was team captain and All Conference at Louisburg College. He also officiated at high school and college sports for 17 years. As Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Liggett Group, Inc., he was also owner and president of Tri-Pro, Inc., a sales and marketing consulting firm that specialized in executive recruiting.
