Golden Girls – Dot Sowerby, left and Terry Hamilton, two of Greensboro’s golden girls, recently captured silver medals at the National Senior Games in Cleveland.

Dot Sowerby, 80, finished second in the 80-84 division of the 5K road race with a chip time of 41 minutes, 1.9 seconds. Terry Hamilton, 85, took second in the next age group with a time of 51:55.9. “It was exhilarating,” both declared.
