Music, dancing, crafts, food and more will be on tap September 11-13 when the National Folk Festival comes to North Carolina for its 75th anniversary celebration.
It will also be a little dizzying as more than 30 groups perform on seven stages with continuous music and dance. A North Carolina folklife area, a festival marketplace, and children’s activities are among other sounds and sights. Read about it, and you may want to volunteer.
Mary Ann and Brian Guinn are back on the wine trail, sampling food and spirits in The Vineyards of Swan Creek. Their Maytime visit was during the Yadkin Valley’s annual herb festival so the tastings at each vineyard featured an herb. An extra bonus was a four-inch potted herb to take home for their own garden.

These are some of the stories in this issue that highlight the many opportunities available to the pre and early retiree in The Triangle. There truly has never been a better time (or place) to retire than exists now in North Carolina in general and the Triangle in particular.
