The Shepherd’s Center of Greensboro, in conjunction with other community non-profits, is organizing a drive to help seniors get Photo ID cards from the DMV for the 2016 General Election.
Here’s what a volunteer will do. By phone, you’ll make sure the seniors have necessary documents for the ID card. When everything is in order, we’ll make an appointment with DMV and take them there to get the ID. With an appointment, there’s virtually no waiting time
Since you will be going into senior’s homes, all volunteers will be in pairs. Ask a friend or relative to volunteer with you. Or we’ll find a partner for you.
It’s not complicated; we’ll have an informational meeting and provide materials that will make the process very clear. And if you have any questions while on a call, live help will always be just a phone call away. Volunteering to help someone vote is a noble effort and a true public service.
To volunteer or learn more about the project call the Shepherd’s Center at: 336-378-0766 their hours are 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday.
