The Wall Street Journal recently reported that folks entering their retirement years face a problem; they’ve forgotten how to have fun. This group, according to the article, has spent the last many decades raising kids, paying off mortgages and showing up for work and, in the meantime, forgotten how to relax and have fun.
Having fun is an important part of a happy, fulfilling life and that is one of the reasons the Triangle remains at the top of the list of best places to retire; we offer lots and lots of ways to have fun. In this issue we look at a few of the possibilities for “fun” that are particularly pertinent to the summer season.
Also in this issue you’ll read about who was recently inducted into the NC Sports Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile Triangle new home builders are in high gear as they roll out new communities tailored to the 50-plus set. Exciting new communities with homes designed to fill the unique needs and desires of a generation that is now “coming of age” and looking for a carefree, low-maintenance style of living that will take luxury and convenience to the next level. See some of these new communities in our section on Active Adult Living.
