Helping You Age in Your Own Home
Navigation at Home is Salemtowne Retirement Community’s personalized, membership-based program that offers the necessary long-term care support for people to age in place in their own home. Navigation began operating five years ago under the name Navigation by Salemtowne.
With a new name—Navigation at Home—and a new look for 2021, this important program offers peace of mind so members can age in the location that provides them the most comfort, their own home. Navigation at Home has also added new program benefits and doubled its service area.
“Our new name—Navigation at Home—emphasizes the goal we’ve had since the inception of the program, which is to empower older adults to live on their own terms in their own home,” Salemtowne President and CEO Mark Steele said.
Members of Navigation at Home, seniors aged 62+, are assigned a Care Navigator who becomes their personal advocate and trusted ally, helping to create a customized plan for long-term care and wellness that works with their unique interests and goals. If care is needed, the member makes one call to their care navigator, and the navigator handles the rest! Members no longer spend time and energy worrying about forms, waiting in endless phone queues, and struggling with confusing processes.
“My wife and I moved into a condo downtown twelve years ago hoping to remain there for the rest of our lives,” said Navigation member Frank James. “Soon after its inception, we became members of Navigation because it would enable us to do so with confidence. For us, Navigation has provided security, financial asset protection, guided us to more advantageous Medicare supplementary and part D pharmaceutical insurance programs, and offered emotional relief for our adult children knowing help will be available for us when needed.”
“After spending years making friends and creating a comfortable home, it is not surprising that many of today’s seniors prefer to stay in their familiar neighborhood, in their beloved home, as they age. This is completely achievable, but it takes more than familiar surroundings, it takes a Continuing Care at Home program like Navigation at Home,” Steele continued.
To better meet individual needs, the Navigation at Home program has been enhanced to offer more customized plans that provide greater flexibility for seniors who want long-term care solutions to live at home. Regardless of which plan type Navigation at Home members choose, all plans provide asset protection, care coordination, and access to high-quality care. The program also offers flexible pricing options and discounts for those who already have a long-term care insurance policy.
Navigation at Home is now available in 20 counties in North Carolina: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Cabarrus, Catawba, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin.
Navigation at Home remains a division of Salemtowne Retirement Community and is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Insurance as a Continuing Care at Home program.
