Carolina Arbors by Del Webb has introduced pickleball, the hottest sports craze sweeping the country, and its residents love it. Using the size of a badminton court, the look and feel of a ping-pong paddle and the nostalgic pop of a wiffle ball, pickleball’s appeal is unmistakable as it has become one of the newest sports clubs at Carolina Arbors.
Pickleball courts are just one of the amenities that officially broke ground on August 20. Others to be “unveiled” include a fitness center, tennis and bocce courts, an outdoor saline pool, a dog park, community garden, and numerous pocket parks.
“Pickleball is just one example of how Del Webb makes health and fitness the cornerstone of its community, serving up new ways to challenge the mind and stir the sense of adventure for its active residents,” says Jennifer Brown, Carolina Arbors by Del Webb’s Lifestyle Director.
Pickleball, the game of the underhand serve, is a sport not only for active adults but for the entire family. “Pickleball’s main attraction is the socialization aspect,” added Brown. “Getting out and doing something with friends is a great way to beat boredom and stress and a good way to keep active.”
