A Letter From the Publisher…
Raleigh. Whether you’re a native or new to the area, you know we’re growing at a rapid rate! As one of the top 50 biggest cities in America, Raleigh appears on many lists such as Forbes’ “Best Places to Retire” for the past five years and Money magazine which named us one of five best retirement destinations. You also cannot beat Raleigh when it comes to comparing benefits to cost with our world-class healthcare, our thriving economy, and significant cultural institutions. We’re quickly becoming the boomers “go-to” city.
It’s easy to see why our retirement age population has grown more than 50 percent in the past decade. You can’t be bored! The 69-mile greenway connects open public spaces with some of Raleigh’s 129 parks, making it a nature lover’s paradise. Our many cultural institutions, from the NC Museum of Art to the African-American Cultural Complex, make Raleigh a cultural and educational hub.
Raleigh’s local economy, driven by banking/financial services, healthcare, and universities, offers an opportunity for boomers who are interested in a “second career” after retirement. Some boomers take advantage of Osher’s Lifelong Learning Institute (for those 50+) at NCSU or volunteer their time “giving back” through philanthropic causes.
At Triangle Retirement Resource Guide, our goal is to provide you the navigational tools for this phase of life you’ve worked so hard for — retirement. We hope you enjoy!
